SUPERNOVA in PGC68110 ...my first SN!

Updated: Jan 6, 2022

M. Caimmi, Loreto, Italy, reports the discovery of an apparent supernova on 15 x 30s unfiltered CCD images taken on Sep, 28.80531 UT with a 0.24 cm reflector. Photometry: mag 19.5 (R mags for the reference stars from UCAC-4). The new object is located at R.A. 22h08m12s.43, Decl. +41°10'50".3. I have recorded this on multiple images on a single night. I will obtain a confirmation images on a second night as soon as the weather permits. The suspect is not present on my archivial images from 2012 and it is not visible on DSS (POSS2/UKSTU) red or blue plates. The MPC shows no minor planets in the area for the observing time.
